Old but Slightly in Use
The language known as Old Lentish is the language which was primarily spoken in the Kyenashi Empire. It is still spoken in the present day by the Elensh who live in Olinthis, these people are the ancestors of the people who decided to keep the language as their official language after the civil war.
There are more of us who master the language than many first think. We teach it to our children because it is a legacy we have and we are proud of it. We want them to be able to understand the great past they come from.
Language of the Old Elite
The language is seen as prestigious as it has a rich history and its connection to the empire and the emperors of old makes it somewhat of a legendary language throughout Dysvoll. Many great literary works were written in Old Lentish and some study it to get the full experience of these classics. These stories and writings have been translated to many languages, but the true fanatics want the most immersive experience they can get.The language doesn't always sound as intellectual as most linguistics agree it is. However, one could say the language itself isn't the intellectual thing they say it is, but rather, that the literary works and their writers are. The greatness of these poets and master word crafters would shine through in any language!
