Lunar Ternion

Three moons orbit Daovis and the Dentah Calendar is partially based on their lunar cycles. The three cycles sink up and produce a triple full moon or a full Ternion, and a triple new moon or new Ternion twice a year. The exact date of Ternions migrate trough the months in 25 years.

Calas

Calas is the furthest away of the three moons. It is 3/4th the size of the Moon(Lycas) in the sky and completes a cycle twice a year with a period of 175 days. Calas is accociated with magic, specifically summoning magic and the other side.

Moon(Lycas)

Lycas, the fey moon or sometimes simply called the Moon is the middel moon both in orbit distance and in size. It takes 35 days for Lycas to complete its cycle. Lycanthropes are strongly connected with Lycas. When Lycas is full lycantropes are forced to transform into their animal counterpart. Which the other two moons do not cause. The full moon is also accociated with the undead. When Lycas is new it has a soft halo around it linked to the element associated with the month in the Dentah Calendar which allows for greater magic of that type. The exception to this are Nature and Earth. These magics are strongest at the full moon.

Haiphas

Haiphas is the closest and smallest moon. With a seven day cycle Haiphas bring in and ends every week(Haiph). Because of how quickly it changes transmutation magic is associated with Haiphas altough all moons share this link. It is 1/6th the size of the Moon(Lycas) in the sky and is gold with white. Haiphas cycle is the only moon that does not change per year in the Dentah Calendar. Full or new Haiphas on it's own does not have a magical effect. But when paired with the other two it either enhances or cancels their magic. If Lycas is full and Haiphas new for example lycantropes do not transform but if both are full the transformation is more savage. Because of this abjuration magic is associated with Haiphas.

New Ternion and Full Ternion

During a full or new ternion Haiphas is the first to rise followed 20.9 minutes later by Lycas. Finally Calas rises 4.1 minutes after Lycas. They then set in reverse order with the same time intervals; Calas going first followed by Lycas and Haiphas finally setting last. This gives the illusion that Haiphas travels the slowest trough the air while it actually flies the fastest trying to be seen by us the longest.
During midnight of a full ternion Haiphas and Lycas overlap, then it looks like two eyes looking down on the earth. One purple with a yellow center and one white with a golden yellow center. During a full ternion sometimes flares of purple, yellow and white can be seen like a strange northern light. This effect is relatively random and localized. There is however been found a link between these flairs and powerful magics.

New Ternion and Full Ternion in perfect years

A perfect year is defined if the new Ternion falls on the 35th of Fearna. This happens every 25 years. The 450th year of the Azor calendar is such a perfect year.
