urrounding the main continent of Daënfel on all sides is a great ocean, seemingly endless in all directions. It is known that there is other land out there -
The Federation are the proof of that - however the many voyages that have set out from Daënfel to chart and explore the lands beyond the continent have never returned.
This is most commonly attributed to the many monsters that lurk within the depths, terrorizing sailing craft or other vessels that venture too far from shore. Some of the vessels that have returned talk of dark mists that began to envelop their ships, before they turned around and ventured back to land.
It was only in recent years that
Empire forces dedicated enough resources to establish a permanent base on the island of
Whitehaven, some distance off the eastern coast. Regular traffic crosses over this part of the ocean, with the harbours of
Helias sheltering the many ships that frequent the continent's eastern shores.
To the south, the great dockyards of
Port Montague construct many of the vessels that chart the waters of this world, often stopping in the ruined harbour of
Crater Cove along their journey eastward.
To the north, the Freemen of the
Unbound Lands hunt whales and seals amongst their islands, and their raiders are some of the fiercest fighters on the seas.
The western coast of Daënfel is rarely traversed by boat, as huge storms wrack the coast of
Avlar's Folly, particularly around
Lightning Bluffs.
