The Coronation of Emperor Davistan XV

Emperor Davistan XIV was slain in the great halls of Carrag Nuine at a summer feast, where he choked and collapsed at the table in front of many of the nobles and ambassadors of the Empire.
The following days were pandemonium. Fingers were pointed in every direction at first, but with the sighting of Orodáni sails on the horizon at Helias all doubt was put aside - this was the work of the Federation. Ambassador Masako was notable absent in the days after the assassination, and no one has seen from the Orodáni diplomatic delegation since that evening.
Matteus IV, knowing that decisive action and unity was of the utmost importance, was quickly coronated, becoming Emperor Davistan XV. While he called his banners and waited for his armies to be assembled at the ancient Galweni seat of power, a thorough investigation was conducted into the noble houses of The Dawning Empire to investigate their involvement in the assassination. This called fractures early in the young Emperor's reign, as the Empire's elite were being ruthlessly detained and questioned while simultaneously rallying their troops to support their new Lord.
Little is known about the results of those investigations, but the Empire is rife with rumours. When the armies marched southward to meet the Orodáni, it is safe to say that the new Emperor had made more than his fair share of enemies within his father's courtiers.
