House Horror
A House Horror is a puppeteer type demon that possesses a house. The dwelling is always a building resembling a single-family home rather than an apartment complex or a sprawling storefront. House Horrors lock their victims inside of themselves and communicate with the trapped humans through a variety of means, from telepathic communication to "speaking" through a radio or television set. The demon itself appears to exist inside of such devices, and can be potentially removed from the possessed house. The Horror forces it's victims to perform tasks for it and seems to revel in taunting them with the possibility of escape. House Horrors prefer to trap multiple victims and pit them against each other to capturing a single victim.
The space inside of a House Horror can be manipulated by the creature, including any furniture or objects that were inside of it at time of possession. Those trapped inside of a House Horror can also be subject to hallucinations. The walls of a House Horror do not keep ghosts out, and as such the victims inside of it are potentially subject to demonic possession, which delights the Horror. Occasionally, a House Horror will allow a single victim to escape, especially if those trapped with the victim were it's family.
The weak point of a House Horror is the doorbell, though attacking it is not easy. The Horror will manipulate objects into a shield in front of the weak spot, and have been known to take one of it's victims hostage in order to force the others to defend it. Some House Horrors will even make a deal with a single human or more reasonable demon, allowing the creature to use it as a base of operations in exchange for bringing it interesting objects, defending it from harm, and bringing it new victims on occasion. A majority of these guardians were babies or otherwise small children when the home came under initial possession and is raised by the Horror to view it as a supreme parental being.
In addition to the doorbell weak spot, the preferred method of dealing with a House Horror is simply to burn it or otherwise destroy it with large equipment. If the doorbell remains intact, it can be taken with a device such as a radio, television, or tablet to trap the House Horror for later interrogation or study, as the demon is incapable of controlling objects outside of it's chosen house, and unlike other demons does not seem to have the ability to voluntarily leave it's host.
It has been theorized that The Signal of Highland is an extremely powerful House Horror, or otherwise related to them.
