Hellhound
Hellhounds are demons that have possessed a wolf or large dog. They are around the size of the largest wolves, are covered in thin black fur, and have solid black eyes. Hellhounds do not sleep and they do not eat, they exist solely to kill. They are most often found in the company of other demons, especially wolf-like demons. They have the ability to command wolves, but not dogs. Hellhounds run faster than a normal wolf, but tire faster and must rest frequently. They have jagged, shark-like teeth and serrated claws. The weak point of a hellhound is the left eye, which is entirely replaced by the demon stone in the transformation process. They are also more easily repelled than other demons by objects of faith (particularly Abrahamic faiths) unless they are in the presence of a more powerful demon. Experimentation has shown that another demon as far away as ten meters can grant them this effect. They can be temporarily stunned by high-pitched noises or flashes of bright light.
Hellhounds hunt by tracking the fear of humans. The truly fearless such as an unconscious human cannot be seen by them and are never attacked by them. When attacking a settlement, they often stalk the area for hours hoping to catch any stragglers, and then when night falls they begin the hunt by destroying sources of light and targeting dogs first.
Hellhounds are Support type demons, their attacks open a victim's soul to possession by an immerwolf (though this is not the only means of immerwolf possession, simply the most common). The fact that an unconscious person cannot be seen by hellhounds appears to be a mechanism to ensure that some of the victims survive to encourage this propagation.
