The Franklin Place - 587 W Pitman St
A very expensive boarding house located close to campus. A first-floor room with board is available for $145 a month and is well worth the price. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin, in their fifties, are a very friendly couple. Hired help keeps the place spotless. Their cook produces breakfast and supper for all residents.
Among the four present boarders are Professor of Engineering Frank Pabodie, Dante Helcimer, and Curtis Kaczorowski.
Dante Helcimer, 43, is a scholar from France who has been tracking down supernatural clues and oddities across the globe. Long before moving to New Jerusalem, he visited Missituk’s library to consult The Booke of the Wisdom of the Stars. Helcimer may wish to consult it again, but Dr. Worthman is unlikely to remember him and with the present state of affairs, may now suspect the man’s intentions.
Helcimer owns copies of the Feery Book of Dzyan, Cultes des Goules, and the Wendy-Smith G’harne Fragments. He is presently in semi-retirement, attempting to calm a nervous nature too shaky for fieldwork. He currently suffers from insomnia, and a strong dislike for eating meat has left him strongly vegetarian—under no circumstances
will he eat meat. He also suffers from severe cynophobia (fear of dogs). Helcimer is currently seeking psychoanalytical treatment with Dr. Heinrich Muelhig.
Curtis Kaczorowski is of Polish descent, as can be seen from his surname, but he was born in the U.S. and doesn’t speak a word of Polish. Though he lives in the Franklin Place in New Jerusalem, he is absent more often than he’s there. He’s a travelling sales rep who works the surrounding area and further afield, so he will often be staying over at the places he goes to when they are too far away to make it there and back in a day. This happens often, as Curtis sells farm equipment, and farmers are often away from the main routes. He does know the backwater areas of New England pretty well. A great animal lover, Curtis will often take time to give a friendly dog or cat he encounters a friendly pat, a little talk, and some spare food if he has any on him.
