Simpson Apartments - 648 Walnut St

Small, drafty apartments in a poor neighborhood. For $45, a second-floor room is available, next door to Madame Dulagi, the astrologer.   Madame DulagiI, 70ish is less than five feet tall, very wrinkled, wears extremally thick glasses, and wears her long grey hair up in a tight but messy bun. For $2, she casts a horoscope. What one learns from this horoscope varies greatly, and although Madame Dulagi is rather cheap and lives in a poor section of town she is actually a highly skilled astrologer and takes her art seriously.   Also in this apartment building lives Madonna, the pet of an elderly blind lady who occupies one of the apartments on the top floor. She almost never leaves home, nor does her cat. She receives groceries and other supplies via delivery boys from various stores, dictating to them the lists of things she will need the next time. Madonna is an elegant, snow-white, rail thin creature who will gladly talk with polite individuals. By contrast, if she is approached rudely or insolently, she will have nothing to do with such riffraff. She knows very little about what goes on “out there” in the world, because she never leaves or is visited by other cats.
