Forged of the Five Cities

We work as hard as any other person of the Five Cities for our City.

Traditions

Garments

While the Forged of Theydim and Goltheris may dress themselves in fabrics for garments, most Forged of the Five Cities choose to have additional pieces of metal added or have engravings put in place. Most garments would easily absorb the waters of the region, so the Forged adopted welding and engravings as a parallel to other people's tattoos or painting. ]

"Face" Engraving

Many people have a struggle with speaking to Forged, and in the Five Cities, some Forged have resolved the issue by engraving facial markings. These could range from never-blinking wide-eyes to carving single lines to mark the top or bottom of facial marks

City Paint

While paints can wear off through time, friction, or water, many Forged would fill in their engravings with the colors of their cities.

Traditions

Construction and Education

In the Five Cities, the Forged were mass produced, and then educated on the purpose they were constructed for. Since the Great Awakening, the Forged have been working to be reeducated towards tasks they have an interest in. The reeducation is often met with high standards, especially if the reeducation is directed towards a career or study path very different from the original education the Forged had received.

Death and Memorial

A Forged denerally dies if their form has been ripped apart. No Forged has died of old age yet, though the oldest Forged are less than forty years old.   When a deceased City Forged is found, their remains are generally sent back to their city of origin to be reformed into parts of other existing Forged, the welded ornamentation, or smelted down to be made into new Forged.

Cities, Architecture, and the Forged

The Cities were not built for the Forged, though most of the workplaces the Forged were originally constructed for have been rebuilt with Forged-friendly dimensions, which is generally on par with very large people, as most Forged of the Five Cities were built with similar forms to people instead of NameBeastVehicleForm

The Forged and the Workforce

The Forged were constructed to replace the casual population in the workforce, leading to a rise of contention between people and the Forged of the Five Cities.

History

The Five Cities Construct Their Forged

Due to rising dissatisfaction among the populations of the City and the rising demand for the City's industrial products, the Forged were constructed to replace them.
We were made to fight in your wars. We were made to dig deep into the mines where the air was hard to breathe. We were made to do the jobs no one wanted to do, the jobs you did not want to do. And then you protest and attack us when we do those jobs for you - the only jobs we were taught to do.

The Blight War

Dissention grew during the Blight War as the people were struggling to feed themselves, while the Forged were being produced more to make up for the lagging, starving, workforce.

The Great War

Trying to acquire more resources and agricultural lands, the Five Cities expanded into the Contested lands. The expansion war eventually grew into a brawl between the Soplan political powers. More Forged were constructed to bolster the military forces.

After the Great Awakening

Where the other Soplan powers took a step back for ethical concerns about what they had done with the Forged, the Five Cities were met with an angry populace who were reinforced with angry Forged. The Cities initially tried to resume treating the Forged as before, but the Forged resisted and joined their fellow workers in demanding a change in how the Cities were expelling their waste waters.
