Blight War Military Conflict in Corive | World Anvil

Blight War

The war between the The Five Cities as a result of the Five Cities' Rice growing fields of most of the region being tainted by industrial waste being dumped by each city along the currents of the wetlands and swamps the water flows into.

The Conflict

Battlefield

The wetlands and swamps of the Five Cities Region became the battlefields, ruining many of the growing zones of the cities.

Conditions

As the war was over growing zones of Five Cities' Rice, many of the combatants in the fields were ill-fed, and fields would be raided for rice to be consumed by the soldiers. Records suggest a quarter of the deaths of this war were primarily caused by military forces eating tainted food, and another quarter had poor nutrition as a possible factor.

Historical Significance

Legacy

All Cities of the The Five Cities Region must build, support, and maintain Waste Pipelines to dispose of City waste away from any currents that would lead to Five Cities' Rice growing fields. The Cities also began looking into other staple foods they could adapt to grow in the available lands, as well as other food sources.
