Battle of Finness
The Battle of Finness was the space battle of the Major Six War between the Mulatos Democratic Republic (M.D.R.) and Huegan Empire, fighting above the barren desert planet Finness. The battle was considered unfair due to their size, yet the aftermath was questionably devastated.
The Conflict
Prelude
Finness, the desert oceanic planet, is in the territory of the republic. Looking unintersting and just the fontier of the territory, the Hueganians arrive just above its atmosphere, preparing for the ground assault.
What they didn't know is that the encounter is more enormous than they think.
The Engagement
Around 20 vessels are large enough for encountering a small uprising, but compared to 80, it was a death sentence. Plenty of energy blasts, phasers, and solid projectiles pierced through squadron of imperial ships like a group of files, and in total, only Hueganian small vessels managed to jump back to the capital, leaving their loss behind. The wreckage then reentered down to Finness like a metoer showers, either staring afloat or sinking into the ocean of sands.
Outcome
In the end, the battle last around a few hours and like what you guessed, the republic won. However, they suffer lots of fleets more than usual. Was their mighty army starting to decay? Nobody knows.
Meanwhile, the empire lost most of its fleets but the damage they've done is impressive. The war logs from one of the surviving ships made everyone in the ballroom sorrowful and furious. Nevertheless, it became a fresh material for internal propaganda.
Aftermath
It's a mystery why they sent the army that large. The planet might hold something too important to make anyone know. Or, they just to show off their fracture ego? The republic was well-known for its military power since the birth of the CSE. Without them CSE might not exist, but was it necessary to obliterate them with that large size? Ridiculous.
What I didn't know was the defenders are too many. It wasn't a fight it was a massacre. I lost my whole crew in this battle. They were my family to me.
