Vampire

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Humans, Bahku , Ghenid, Beastmen and even Octnon have been known to be infected, though the Octnon form is typically feral. Fae blood produces a drunken state in vampires while the Thrall state is induced for shorter duration in Fae. Fae generally do not become vampires. Centaurs also seem to be rarely turned. Draconic vampires are unknown. Beasts become feral types.

Growth Rate & Stages

The vampire reproduces by feeding it's blood to a dying individual. Blood fed to a living individual creates a parasitic boosted state, the Thrall. (See Vampirism

Dietary Needs and Habits

Vampires consume blood. Some may feed on other sources.  It is said that the fae origin feed on the gossamer of emotions or the vital essence of mages.

Social Structure

The creator of a new vampire has dominion and some level of control in the presence of the created.  This influence fades over decades and centuries.  The creator may view the created as minions, slaves or as childer.  The basic structure of a vampire nest is one with a dominant leader or boss.  This may be seen as a sort of family with aware vampires overseeing newer underlings under a creator. 
Several creators may join in a coven. Again, these are ruled by a powerful, dominant individual must typically. Sometimes a weaker boss with more "family" may take the lead. In larger covens there are officers and overseers and politics that dictate position and status and control of feeding with thrall servants that may find prey or aid in abducting persons to be used as feed.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

The malign spirits called Nemesis seem related.  These are underworld spirits - they occupy flesh and revel in sensation they lack as spirits. They can float or fly at three times the speed of a running man, or creep or ooze thru solid stone or wood. Water has no affect on them. Fire and sunlight are as if solid to them, and immobilize them in spirit form where they appear as beaked owl like ghosts. If in a body they are not immobilized but can’t escape the body. They may speak audibly in spirit form and will bargain for flesh, but are cruel cunning liars and cheats. They lose power in flesh, regaining a small portion if indulging in floods of carnal sensations. The powers they show are:
Possession: It takes several minutes for them to pour into a body - dead, mindless or undead.  Conscious will prevents them taking seed in a living body. A single action releases a body. If in a body that crumbles or is destroyed, so is the Nemesis. Occupied bodies have eyes that reflect a blue light. If In a body the Nemesis can infect a near death body by pouring itself into it from the possessed body via blood or other fluids. It totally transforms and ceases to exist, creating a vampiric form.
Spirit Vision: they can see spirit forms and in total darkness. Nemesis know others and can see riding or possessing spirits.
Command: one word command that must be obeyed. Must not cause self injury or run counter to dictates of a situation.
Hypnosis: implants a complex command: "Report anyone in a blue cloak." "Go to the market at noon and confess to stealing gold."
Fog the mind: implant or place a false memory or cause something to be forgotten for a time. "Don’t you recall, I’m your long lost cousin. We had a business dealing."  "You took a long way home or drank too much lastnight."
Fear: Nemesis possess an aura of cold and fear- draining temperature 10 degrees and causing fear opr terror.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

Vampires themselves only organize into Clans and fiefdoms.
Clans: The Clans are the major blood lines and determine major traits

  1.The Wyld: These clans have Hunger Trait+1, -1 clarity. Start with Beast Discipline
Gyllo The tempest: Po ruled fighters. They have no Other. They are frequently Feral.
Yaka, Bat shifting. Frequently wi long claws, bat ears.
Pricolikae: wolf shifting.

2. The Patricians:
Striga - afflicted with madness.
Alukah - idiosycratic and weak- 50% levels.
Lamashtu - Stylish but take a virtue and vice.

3. The Blighted: Deformed, freakish or marked with death and decay -
Tilberi :gaunt skeletal or deformed.
Heteraki - Pale and almost insubstantial. May draw Essence and convert 5 to 1 blood.
Varcolac- Decayed with toothed tongues that extend upto 10ft.

  4. The Infernals -
Ramanga - Blue skinned with red rimmed eyes: tempters, seducers and worshipers of excess.
Baali - red skin. Corrupted, warped and bent on destruction. Take a Drive or Desire corruption. Gain Corruption powers.

5.The Ravagers: May feed via Psychic vampire off emotional resonance/ humors lust, hate, anger = 1 blood. Start with Passion Discipline.
Vetala:  They believe they should rule all and control the herd.
Estries - Believe in staying hidden and manipulate from the shadows.
