He was a charmer and a rake. He lived off the good graces of others and worked for The Moirai Syndicate. He done his research into Nicola and her family. While he easily charmed her, he wasn't as successful with her parents. He was the one who insisted they get married quickly.
Sampson was disappointed when her parents pratically cut her off. He had to scramble with the Syndicate, promising that he would his hands on the money. He missteped when he dallied with both the daughter and the wife of the Weaver. His dallience with other top lieutenants women could no longer be overlooked.
They used a special device to tamper with his vehicles that made it look like it hadn't been.
