OSC1: The Damsel and the Dragon

General Summary

Our heroes started off in the halfling shire of Virdege. Taking place seven years prior to our main campaign, this new party enjoyed crowded beer garden merriment. An earth genasi ambled on-stage and played a haunting tune on his hurdy-gurdy recounting the tale of the elven “Maiden of the North”, a tale of a damsel spirited away by a vile yellow dragon. The song was entrancing and needled its way into the mind of our adventurers. Goastnukle the Goliath jumped up onto one of the tables causing a ruckus and La’fendel the wood elf failed to start a competition of skill. Irma the Halfling approached the genasi bard at the bar but only received the phrase about the inescapable truth of the “call to adventure”. Lyran the Human put on a show of deception for the party and decided to have a ‘conquest’ tonight. After attracting the Goliath and the Halfling in the party, the three bounded to the Twirling Gurdy and there persuaded the old Halfling innkeep to join their orgy. During their unplanned tryst, Irma succumbed to her Lycanthropy and became a werehare infecting all but the barbarian Goastnukle who was dumbfounded by the violent ruckus and ravaging that proceeded. The horrid scream released by Irma also frenzied the Hulks, rabbit-like beasts of burden that the halflings keep, as all the lapine creatures began sacking the town.
La’fendel was deputized by the guard and gathered his two unafflicted allies as they engaged the enemy. Bryseiss, with thaumaturgy and earthquakes, scared most of the werehares away leaving only Vryax (Lyran) and Irma who proceeded to mate violently on the barricade. Arrows volleyed, eldritch magic summoned, and jawbones of a poor animal not even frenzied were utilized to dispatch the remaining creatures. The captain of the guard almost succumbed to the wretched sex occurring before him but witnessed one transform into a half-elf busting the nut of his life in this anthropomorphic bunny monstrosity. The town was now destroyed and quickly abandoned, the party gathered their things and washed off their shame and were compelled by the persistent song to continue northward. Lyran deprived of sleep and fully exhausted came to a grove filled with statues around a shrine to ‘Siswa’. Begging to shrine, he finally rested peacefully at its steps. After a four-day rest and honing their painful need to travel north, the party disembarked to the Chambers of Indomitable Doom.
After a few days following their senses, our heroes happened upon the fabled cave where their headache pointed. Venturing into the Chamber, greeting screams of help from a maiden rang through the halls. They dashed to the source of the voice leading them to a large cavern resplendent with gold and a large brass dragoness resting upon the hoard. Starved for food and especially conversation, the dragon was greeted by deference from La’fendel and proselytizing from Irma about her god, Pan. Insight and context inevitably revealed that this “Maiden” legend a ruse to attract delicious adventurers. With the remoteness of the cavern and her agoraphobia, Atravet the dragoness felt conflicted about eating the party. Lyran sprang a surprise attack causing the dragoness to breath sleep gas knocking them out for 10 minutes. Coming to, the party discovered Atravet talking to a figure that seems to be the source of the maiden’s voice. The ensuing battle displayed her partner’s, Skaala the Medusa, ability to nearly petrifying La’fandel. This wood elf paladin spent the majority of the battle appealing to Atravet’s morals and race. Atravet, torn between her alignment and her friendship, clawed two of her large satin pillows to death and protected her friend with her wing to repel attacks. Skaala the Medusa used her reactions to try and petrify or blast thunderous noise throughout the cavern using her audio system. Lyran poured out his heart and finally pushed Atravet to help. She unfurled her wing and allowed Bryseiss to cast blindness on the medusa. After a few hits from the party, Atravet sighed (breathed) a sleeping gas cloud felling nearly everyone, grappled her horrid medusa friend, and fled through the skylight in the cavern.
Upon further inspection of “Skaala’s” room (as Atravet called her), the party learned that Siswa of that shrine and Skaala are one in the same. La’fendel snagged an infernal bow and four arrows while the rest of the party shoved their pockets with gold and jewels. Irma discovered a strange puzzle box but failed to open it (DoMT). Instead, the item faded into a set of Silver Dragon Scale Mail appeared with a Shortsword of Something (3 charges.) No longer bound by the haunting geas that pulled them to this thwarted culling, the party disbanded. Lyran and Irma however will likely continue their bizarre intimacy as long as they can…
