Elder Harpine (a.k.a. Harpi, Aunt Maple)

Harpine (Harpi) was the elder of the Ozwok village of Keather. In her late 80's, she has lived a long life yet still pines for her adventurous youth. In her youth, she deserted her settlement and sought honor elsewhere. This eventually led to her capture by the Elven Empire and her sentence to the Dire Islands. While her struggles in the islands are unknown, she arose nearly a decade later with a totem of a rat companion and a strange starry pendant. She continued to wander the world but was unable to gain the honor she hoped for. Upon returning to Kitsch, she was nearly exiled to the Scorch but was saved by her childhood friend Glissi who risked her high position to do so. Instead, Harpi was sentenced to be an acolyte in Keather. There she let herself grow wiser and frailer but never truly lost her wanderlust. Now one-winged and homeless, Harpine reconsiders the cost of her wandering and scrappy nature.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Due to the destruction of Kitsch by seared beasts, Harpine has lost nearly all of her left wing. Her similarity to a maple seed has earned her the name "Aunt Maple" or "Aunt Whirligig" by many children who now interact with her.
