C1 Session 9

General Summary

When last we left our heroes, they had just dispatched the Seared creatures from the Scorch to the east. After a quick group PT session with Brother Marcon and Gromlock, Torque slowly gained more movement. The elder woke and was frightened by the horse-sized hyena looming over her and a creepy green half-orc trying to lure her into the basement. Fortunately, the sultry, honeyed voice of Marcon was able to calm her shock of the loss of her people. Nevertheless, hijinks ensued and the party happened upon a small shrine in the basement that which slowly rotated and lowered them into a dark sloping hallway ending in a large cylindrical room with a staircase wrapping downward. Gadaffi, in spider-like fashion, contorted his body and began walking down the side. Gromlock tripped but was caught by the party but after hearing the elder survive her fall, became eager and cannonballed downward taking his reluctant tethered dragonborn companion with him.
The party rambled down a flooding chasm and entered upon a grand chamber in which a large, shimmering pyramid lay half submerged resplendent with glowing crystals and refracting light. It felt strangely humid for a desert as vines and lily pads were everywhere. Taking note of two figures down below them, Yeezy cast pass without a trace and was able to sneak up and hear the maniacal monologing from a serpent-like aggressor working with Berne while the other elder lay charred and sandblasted beneath him. Gromlock and Gaddafi, in a rare feat of cooperation, ripped two holes in his flesh and he scrambled creepily into a vent in the pyramid. Thanks to the fast work of Dr. Grom, he was able to save the soul of the other elder/Harpine’s BFF, Glissy, as she fell away into the seared sand outside. Transformed into a lion, Yeezy bounded into the vent and was saved by the strong arms of Gaddafi in which she then acted as an anchor to let everyone climb up. After sliding down the steep vent, the party found themselves in an ancient dusty chamber filled with urns. Yeezy, hot on Berne’s trail, quickly climbed up into a great hall with a causeway. To their left taking up a large amount of the wall was a large goldstone map of the world with five large crystals ensconced in the wall.
Approaching the main chamber, the pursued fellow sat waiting and monologuing about the yuan-ti getting revenge for what the ancient birdfolk did to his race as he attempts to charm both Gaddafi and Torque whom seemed to potentially buy into it. Having his arm easily torn from his figure, the man transforms into a giant naga with a human-like face. A glorious fight ensued: Gadaffi screamed, “Shatter Me” and loud as he could flinging the water shard necklace into the waters around the room. Yeezy bit him and boy did he bite back. Gromlock stared unholy death in the face unfazed and began emitting a blessed aura. The naga entangled himself in the unnatural crystalline apparatus on top of the sarcophagus and began energizing the descending snakes into a aberrant pile of snakes that attacks. Noticing the old book from Keather glow, Torque made the command decision to open the tome and return everyone to a familiarly snowy hedge maze. There were mummies, snakes, mummies with snakes on their head, mummies fleeing, and the bitter, unyielding cold. Not a party member exempt rend the foes into the cold earth. Torque, trying his best to fix the torch holder, was later helped by Yeezy who deftly fixed the second torch holder and returned everyone to a familiar temperate setting…
