Kitsch

Unlike the many small shrines in Keather, Kitsch is known for its singular great Temple to the Duo. Kitsch is the oldest Ozwok city and has seen its fair share of turmoil through the years. That being said, the populous believes their resilience is derived from the Duo, two goddesses that veil the lush Kitsch from The Scorch to the East and the Dunes to the West. Inside the Temple of the Duo, ceremonies including burnt offerings and anointing their gold coins featuring the Duo on its faces. Deeper within the temple, past where even the devout acolytes could go lay a massive sinkhole with crumbling sandstone stairs. Most ozwok had to fall into the hole and climb a rope out as the stairs were now impassible. Below lay a great flooded complex with crystals affixed to obelisks. There a highly angular pyramid carved of goldstone where the Guardian Crystal is focused to encompass the Ozwok territory. The guardian crystal is an aether shard using birdfolk technology to amplify it’s power. Strangely enough, there is some speculation that perhaps the birdfolk created the omphalos in the nears spots to the elemental planes and that they are misremembered gods. This is supported by the large goldstone map of Cabochon inside the pyramid. Never the less, nearly all the ozwok never knew the true nature of their temple and the beautiful flooded complex underneath.

Defences

Kitsch is bordered by a ruined sandstone wall on their western border. The uninhabitable Scorch offers a western defense for the city. Rotation to wall is usually weekly for the city militia or annually for those tasked as soldiers.

Architecture

Unlike the holy city of Keather, Kitsch does incorporate sandstone and mortar into its structures. Most buildings have multiple stories to take advantage of the desert winds to dissipate heat. Ozwok are at the forefront of glassmaking in Cabochon and once saw it as their primary export. Although widely produced, only multistory buildings are equiped with glass windows. Among the most intricate of structures is the ancient Temple of the Duo, a restored Ari ruin where weekly penance is sought by the denizens of Kitsch.
