Earth Omphalos

When an angel tells you to do something, you listen. I had no choice. If Tephra discovered I had figured out their plan... well I wouldn't have been able to save the Omphalos. Pythas was fighting tirelessly against the Time Elemental. If I didn't place that 'seed' in the omphalos, I knew he would. So I decided to save the omphalos... by destroying it.

Architecture

Composed of arcane and cosmic green gemstone, the omphalos is perceived differently by different creature types. Humanoids that have recorded their discovery of the gem speak of its immense size and cuboid shape. Translated Ari texts indicate a sphinx once described the elemental earth source as a "constantly tessellating emerald spire fettering these planes together."

History

Once the resting place of the Earth Omphalos which regulated the flow Elemental Earth into Cabochon, the Fissure deep below the Northern Wylds is an unimpeded gateway to the Plane of Elemental Earth. While its location is still a closely guarded secret, this portal enables bizarre and alien creatures to now plague much of the northeast of Ochita.
While this fact remains almost entirely unknown outside of the Northern Wylds, most in Cabochon feel the effect of the Earth Omphalos' destruction through the sudden disappearance of Halflings. This event has caused so much unrest that previous disparate calendars across have all uniformly recognized this rapture as a 'new era.'
