Sir Dafydd of Appleton Thorn
Sir Dafydd ͏͏͏͏
Dafydd was a Cambrian knight from Cheshire, son of war hero Sir Amlodd of Appleton Thorn, and father of Sir Amlyn of Winterbourne Stoke. He was the third lord of Appleton Thorn.
Dafydd took his family to Brittany, fleeing the rule of High King Vortigern. He was killed by bandits in Brittany and his land was granted to a loyalist family. After his death, his wife Lady Arianwen became a Roman Christian nun.
His coat of arms was a purple rose against a gold chevron on a blue field.
