Ioan was a Cambrian knight from Cheshire, and older brother of Sir Amlyn of Winterbourne Stoke.
His family lost his ancestral holdings of Appleton Thorn under the rule of High King Vortigern after his family fled to Brittany, but Sir Ioan became lord after the manor was recaptured by Sir Amlyn in 491.
Ioan was known for his rivalry with Sir Amlyn and for often displaying hypocritical behavior, and taking the moral high ground despite siring multiple bastards.
He was killed in a Saxon ambush in 493.
His coat of arms was a purple rose against a gold chevron on a blue field.
Ioan was a player character and successor of Amlyn. He was succeeded by Asher.
