Lady Arianwen

Lady Arianwen ͏͏͏͏ (a.k.a. Sister Arianwen)

This article is about the mother of Amlyn. For her daughter, see Aeronwy.   Arianwen was a Cambrian former nun from Cheshire. She was the mother of Sir Amlyn of Winterbourne Stoke and Sir Ioan.   She was the daughter of a minor lord in Cheshire, and the dowager lady of Appleton Thorn.   After her husband Sir Dafydd of Appleton Thorn passed away, she became a Roman Christian nun in the City of Legions. She was expelled from the nunnery in 481 after rumours of her being a horse thief.   She died while staying at her son's manor Winterbourne Stoke and was married to Teacher Brugyn with two children, Jac and Aeronwy.
