Queen Rowena

Queen Rowena ͏͏͏͏

Rowena is a Saxon princess and disputed former queen of Britain.   As Rowena was born in Britain‌ and his family hails from Jutland, she was an Ængle and not technically a Saxon at all; the term Saxon is used colloquially. She did eventually retire to Saxony‌ with her son, Cerdic‌.   The daughter of Cyning Hengest of Kent, Rowena married his ally High King Vortigern. Her marriage is considered questionable, as Vortigern was married.   It is believed she poisoned her stepson, King Vortimer of Escavalon.
