King Katigern of Powys

King Katigern ͏͏͏͏͏͏͏͏

Katigern was the son of High King Vortigern and Queen Severa, and succeeded his father as king of Powys in Cambria.   When his father Vortigern betrayed his mother Severa by marrying the Saxon princess Rowena, Katigern and his brother Vortimer launched a series of rebellions against their father. Katigern was slain in a duel with Saxon warlord Horsa.

Katigern was the second son of Vortigern & Severa. He was the nephew of Constantin and the first cousin of Constans, Aurelius Ambrosius and Uther.   Katigern had an older brother Vortimer and a younger brother Paschent, as well as one younger sister, Scotnoe. He also had one younger half-brother, Cerdic. He was the uncle of Modrun, Cynric, and Gillomanius.   Through his marriage to Brandgaine, he had one son, Cadell.   FAMILY TREE NOT AVAILABLE
