Strahd von Zarovich University

Strahd von Zarovich University is a centre of learning in Vallaki, representing the only formal education in the County of Barovia. Ostensibly a university for "natural philosophy," it teaches a wide range of subjects in a rather informal manner, with masters given lectures to students who are then quizzed verbally and given status accordingly. The University is the principal agent supressing magical studies and use in Barovia, at the behest of Strahd von Zarovich for whom it is named.
The University's library appears reduced in stock, having ten times the space for the number of books on display. Though the University has not declared as such, their stock has been largely pilfered by Victor Vallakovich, who is being blackmailed by Henrik van der Voort. Many of the books recount annals and records from the County, focusing on Barovian culture and natural philosophy.
