Henrik van der Voort is a Mistborn Human Coffin-Maker and Taxidermist who operates Van der Voort's Coffins, Embalmery and Taxidermy in Vallaki. Though known widely as a slimey git, he is no-less famed for his excellent handiwork.
Henrik is a known criminal and murderer by Übel Bachmann, who witnessed him kill a business associate on the 3rd of Second Moon, 735 ME. The two then had a conversation, and made a deal to help one another.
On the evening of the 6th of Second Moon, 735 ME, Übel discovered that Henrik was hired by Victor Vallakovich to steal the Bones of Saint Andral from the Church of St. Andral. He has been blackmailing the young noble ever since, whilst holding onto the Bones.

Personal history
Before arriving in Barovia (having been taken by the Mists) Henrik was a coffin-maker who realised he could make more business for himself by murdering people. He started killing dozens of people by faking symptoms of plague (administered when he would come to claim an otherwise normally deceased individual, or whilst loved ones and friends would come to view a body), and would then drive out the competition by being the only one willing to work on the "plague" bodies. So heinous were his crimes that he was taken by the Mists, and has since found much work to be done in Barovia. So often do people die here that he's never had to resort to murder, though he does engage in other acts of crime, such as grave robbing and extortion.
