Morwyn (more-win)

The Infernal King

Morwyn is the king of devils, the lord of the Nine Hells. He is not considered to be Nisme, however, and is instead considered an Elder Being, some say at least as old as Primus. He is known as a shapeshifter and powerful muti-personality entity, with a different aspect of himself ruling over the various levels of the Nine Hells. These various aspects of Morwyn have their own names, though they are also often referred to as Morwyn themselves. Because of this consciousness-splitting ability, he knows what is happening on all levels of the Hells at once and can conduct business on all the levels simultaneously. The downside to this is that Morwyn suffers from severe schizophrenia and constant paranoia, always afraid that one of his aspects will try to overpower his main consciousness and take control of the whole operation. Morwyn's various abilities and strengths have made him one of the most powerful and feared entities in the entire multiverse.   Similar to the Nisme' procreation with each other, Morwyn and the other Elder Being Divone have produced unknown numbers of children over the centuries and millennia. Several of these children, called Olcrid, are well-known to the realms of men and make up the Dark Pantheon. A few of these are rulers of various sub-planes in The Abyss, while others are dark deities ruling over entire planes or realms themselves. They are similar in power and standing to the Deirid, and the difference in names and classification has everything to do with their alignment and perceived morality. Toldrun is sometimes, therefor, considered part of the Olcrid for this reason, though others point to his status as the chief deity of (one sect of) dwarves as reason for inclusion with the Deirid.   Morwyn does not have any organized religion dedicated to his worship. His followers tend to be organized more often into cults and small sects that worship in secret, using hidden temples in basements or cemeteries. Many of these devotees are wealthy nobles across the world who previously sold their soul to Morwyn in exchange for some earthly benefits.   **Morwyn is roughly the equivalent of Asmodeus in other universes and pantheons; however, he also encompasses all eight archdevils as well. Whereas the "traditional" Nine Hells are ruled by backstabbing and plotting to get through the ranks to hopefully become an Archdevil, this version of the Hells are all ruled by various aspects of Morwyn, and the lower devils proceed with the usual backstabbing and plotting with the end goal being to become one of their level's Lieutenants - the chief underling of Morwyn's aspect. Each aspect of Morwyn is still referred to by their traditional names like Dispater, Mephistopheles, Zariel, etc.**

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Morwyn's main form is described as a red-skinned human man with dark slicked-back hair and small, upturned horns at his temples. He is depicted in most realistic versions (as opposed to the stylized religious "propaganda") as having a well-groomed beard with curled mustache, though other depictions show him clean-shaven. Based on sources who have encountered Morwyn in his main form, he tends to wear the finest silks and jewelry - portraying an air of confidence and suaveness.
