Leylothar (lay-low-thar)

The Stalker

Leylothar, Master of the Hunt and All Its Glory, is the Olcrid deity of sadistic pleasure in chasing or hunting things. His tenets focus on terrorizing and confusing one's targets during the hunt instead of just killing them. He is the patron deity of gnolls and minotaurs. His followers have been known to kidnap people - either random or targeted community members they dislike - and hunt them for sport (much like The Most Dangerous Game).   Leylothar was born from the union of the two Elder Beings Morwyn and Divone and, surprising to most, spent some of his upbringing with the Deirid Síohann. When Leylothar began to show his more wicked tendencies, the two split ways and have not spoken or interacted since.

Tenets of Faith

  • One should relish the chase and the fear in one's enemies above the actual catch.
  • One should use tricks, traps, mazes, and other tactics to further confound and terrify one's prey.
  • Instill as much fear as possible in one's targets before eliminating them.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

There are many differing depictions of Leylothar, but all have a few facts in common. Most accept that his hunter's leathers and cloak conceal much of his appearance, but from below his hood is always visible a large mouth twisted into a sadistic grin. The teeth almost glow or give off their own light to be seen beneath the hood. No eyes or other features are usually seen, though a few sources claim otherwise.
