Síohann (see-oh-hawn)

The Watcher in the Wilds

Síohann, Master of Woodlands and The Balance, is the patron deity of rangers, druids, foresters, and hunters. He was entrusted by his parents, the Nisme Talia and Gaela, to guard The Balance between nature and civilization. To do this, priests of Síohann work on preservation/conservation and hunting/pruning in equal measure as required by each situation. Their job is to protect the natural world from the damage and encroachments of civilization and to protect civilization from the unchecked predators and untamed qualities of nature.   Many remote villages and forest dwellings count Síohann as their primary deity, even eschewing The Four in some cases. Travelers and chroniclers have remarked at the comedy of seeing a village of tall, lithe elves praying for the blessings of a small, somewhat stout halfling. While the followers of Síohann are not necessarily the stealthiest or most skilled hunters in the world, they go about their duties with relentless persistence, always striving to maintain the Balance they believe they have been divinely charged to protect.

Tenets of Faith

  • Always work to preserve The Balance between nature and civilization.
  • Do not take more from nature than is needed to survive. The Balance is fragile.
  • Predatory animals do not deserve to be hunted, unless they are aggressively hunting people where they live and work.
  • Learn the patterns and powers of natural magic to counteract the damage done by man.
