Tangeri

The Tangeri are a race of small birdfolk that are isolated to the rainforests of the continent Azin. Living in such a hostile environment, full of deadly predators and noxious toxins, they are believed to have a strong resistance to poison and recover from them faster.
Unlike most other Avani races, which have mostly evolved alongside each other and constantly interacted in their growth and expansion, the Tangeri have been isolated in their jungles and small settlements for thousands of years. It is perhaps only a thousand years ago that they may have first made contact with their northern neighbors, the inhabitants of Kahdro, and only a few decades prior to the Cyanni War that they first met the rest of the world. Even now, they are mostly cut off from nations besides their own, only interacting with other races due to demographic mixing with the descendants of The Lost Colonies.

Ecology and Habitats

The Tangeri are isolated to the dense, humid rainforests of northeastern Azin, where they hide among the vines and vegetation just below the jungle canopy. To survive in this toxic environment, they have grown a strong resistance to poisons and venom from the deadly life around them.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Tangeri are usually blue-grey with black wings and spots across their body, intended to mimic the poisonous frogs that live in their environment. Small portions of their population are also red-black and dark green.
