Third Admerian Empire

The Admer Empire, also referred to as the Old Admeria or the Empire of Veluntia, was a once-great, well-respected empire during the reign of the Good King Olmen that first arose thousands of years before the Bene Regem became the third globalized empire. Its dragon-worshiping citizens were considered the protectors of their lands until the collapse of the Bene Regem and the Era of Upheaval in the empire. The strong willed survivors of the Era of Upheaval live hard, militaristic lives, free from the memories of their beloved ancestors, now power-hungry and battle-tested. This change of behavior has imperiled the empire by the lingering effects of their wicked pacts with Wish Dragons.

Description

Admeria was a savage and inhospitable empire that attracted few visitors and even fewer friends. It is home to the flying war machines the empire calls "cities", opulent surface cities, and vast subterranean mountain slave settlements, as well as numerous long-abandoned ruins dating back to the fall of the First Empire.

Geography

During the peak of its power, Admeria stretched from the Lapta'k Desert all the way eastward to the Gellar Mountain Range and beyond to the Fields of Mun, extending south to the Tezca Jungle and west to the broken coast.   The great Underdark domain of Edarvhir (draconic for World Below) lay in part beneath the lands of Admeria.

Geographical Features

Admeria was mostly a dry, rocky tableland of infertile land, dotted with rocky mountains that supported life beyond scrub grass and cacti. It was considered to be a relatively tame region of the empire, compared to say the nearby Azul Jungle.

Deserts and Savannahas

  • Lapta'k Desert, this medium sizes desert is around 624 miles from North to South, and roughly 912 miles across from East to West, covering almost 569,088 sq miles. It has existed for a few hundred years and is steadily getting larger. It is a cool desert covered in cream sand, with an average temperature of 8°C (46.4°F), with highs of 16°C (60.8°F) and lows of °C (32.0°F). Local legend states that a strange gateway can be found deep within the desert.

Forests and Jungles

  • Azul Jungle, is a tiny, rain-soaked jungle is home to a wide range of different plants and animals; a few of these are venomous or poisonous. The tallest trees are around 153 feet (47 meters) tall, and the overgrowth is quite easy to travel through without cutting tools.
  • Tezca Jungle, is a foggy jungle that is home to hundreds of different plants and animals; some of these are venomous or poisonous. The tallest trees are around 67 feet (20 meters) tall, and the overgrowth is very difficult to travel through without cutting tools.

Hills and Mountians

  • Borkr, is a mountain that is 117 miles long, reaches 13,568 feet at its highest point, and like the rest of the Eisen Range is surprisingly difficult to climb. Most of the lower Eisen Range is covered in high density shrubs, and the weather is usually misty the higher up the mountainside. The upper regions frequently experience mud slides. Deep, albeit skinny ravines can be found within the range.
  • Gellar Mnt. Pass, is a pass created in the Gellar Mnt. Range. This pass allows for the flying cities of the Empire to traverse the range and invade the eastern lands.
  • Hrafn, is a mountain that is 148 miles long, reaches 4,652 feet at its highest point, and it is possible to scramble to the top in good conditions. A tunnel has been dug through the Snori Mnt. Range to allow easier passage between Hrafn and Thirthrandi. Most of the lower range is covered in cliffs and canyons, and the weather is usually windy.
  • Israuthur, is a mountain that is 97 miles long, reaches 16,212 feet at its highest point, and the highest peak is extremely steep. Most of the lower Azul Range on the south side is covered in cliffs and canyons, and the weather is usually windy. The upper regions frequently experience constant winds. There is farmland to the South.
  • Thirthrandi, is a mountain that is 142 miles long, reaches 18,487 feet at its highest point, and is difficult to climb; many have lost their lives trying. Most of the lower Snori Range here experiences freqently clear weather. The upper regions are almost always covered in thin snow and the weather is usually foggy. A series of tunnels have been excavated to allow easier passage between the cities of Hrafn and Thorgais. Local rumor states a long abandoned village can be found within the range.
  • Thorgalis, is a mountain that is 123 miles long, reaches 18,452 feet at its highest point, and there are many sheer cliffs and drops. Most of the lower range is covered in low clouds. The upper regions frequently experience deep snow and ice, and the weather is usually clear A tunnel has been dug through the Teitr Range to allow easier passage between Thorgalis and Thirthrandi.

Flora and Fauna

The Lapta'k is a desert riddled with dense life below the surface. Here the Underdark draws closer to the surface compared to any other location yet found on the world. It is for this reason that the land sees a great deal of saline and heat resistant life.

Military

Purple Dragon Knights. This order of knights has long fallen from its true glory. Still holding much of the power and fear of its citizens, the order sits around growing fat from leisure, forgetting the old ways of constant training and war.

Religion

The Draconic Pantheon is worshiped by all of the countries citizens. Even the slaves of the lesser cities have begun to believe some of the Draconic Gods to be their saviors, despite the reality of this falsity.

Foreign Relations

Agriculture & Industry

Slave Trade is a massive industry for the Admer Empire, trading with the Thurdarth Clans and the Phisij Empire. Since these routes often overlap with free trade to and from Carcino, it is not uncommon to see slaves try and jump ship and swim to freedom in the Dalelands. Slaves also make up the entire working backbone of the Admer Empire, working in mines, farms, mills, and refineries.

Trade & Transport

Trade mostly occurs via water, cargo being moved and protected by Kheladion or "chelande" ships.

Education

Everyone that isn't a slave or 'lesser race' is granted the right to an education. Those that have been turned into Dragonborn can pay their way through to higher education.
