(a.k.a. The Black Terror that Flies, The Drake of Darkmere)
At the bottom of the dwarven stronghold, Khundurkar, sits a lake black as night. The ceiling rises out of view of any normal vision and the back walls of the cavern cannot be seen from the small 5' sand bank that sits on the eastern shore.
Something calls this lake home. Something big. Something as dark as the lake that swims in the Dark Mere late on moonless nights.
In the year 4126 SE, a group of heroes would discover the Black Lake and the creature calling it home. Discovering it to be a black dragon of unknown age, the Heroes fled, but not before greatly angering the beast with lightshows and the beasts most hated speech and the stench of Dwarves
Fleeing Khundurkar, the heroes sought aid, in the nearby Valley of the Mage, to destroy the scaly beast and save the lost clan of dwarves within. But it already may be to late.
