Khundrukar (forge-stronghold)
History
After the destruction of the forge-stronghold by the hands of the Black Dragon Knights, a few survivors, including the pregnant wife of Dureggdin Stonehammer, fled deep into the mines of the mountain, to the Underdark. It is here in the Underdark, far from the light of the outside world, that the clan would undergo a mutation. Staunch whiting of the skin pigment, greying of the hair at birth, and small beady black eyes without any color. These dwarfs are the first Duergar, and would spread to many parts of the Underdark in small, secluded bands.
One Duergar however, with a very aged journal, was able to scrape her band up and find the ancestral passageway back to the Stone Tooth Mountain and the forge-stronghold written about as Khundrukar, the Forge of Fury. This Duergar, Nimira, would call her band of Duergar Clan Durgeddin, after their ancestor and war-hero.
The band found the forge in the year 4123, and spent the first year barring doors and entryways to prevent those abominations that still wander their forge.
In the year 4126 it would seem that their luck would change, as a group of adventures, with an ancient dwarven automated guard in tow, would arrive at their doorstep. This group of adventures would clear out the top level of Orcs and the bottom layers of monsters and undead. One night however, the group left. And on the next day, a low distant rumbling from deep below the mountain could be heard by the remaining denizens of the Forge of Fury.
Disbandment
The clan wouldn't be able to get their ancestral home back up to its former glory sadly. As while the group of adventures had seemed to be helpful, they also proved to be the clans downfall, awakening and angering an ancient enemy of the dwarves that still slumbered beneath their mountain, waiting for one day, to taste dwarf flesh once again.
