Cormanthyr Empire
It is unknown if the empire or the forest came first, but they both share the name of Cormanthyr. The forest is one of lush beauty, while the cities of the empire are equally magnificent in their grand design. It is also unknown why the empire has never expanded beyond the borders of the forest. At one point in time the forest nearly covered the entirety of the continent, but years of natural and not so natural disasters have caused the forest, and thus the empire, to shrink to just a fifth of their once grand size. Forced to the west and northern sides of the Nyr-Dyv lake by the Green Scourge and the events therein, the empire has survived, as has its capital of Nila Edhil.
