History

The original colonists of Dalefield were sailors and citizens of the ship Lilly and captained by Captn' Kip. After a bad storm set them off course the boat nearly struck a large rock in the ocean, later named Kip's Rock; the boat found itself beached in a coral bed just off the southeastern shores of Veluntia. Dismantling the boat board by board the original colonists set up the central church and town hall building in 4010, and the first houses finished construction the year later in 4011.
After 2 years of no contact, hunters from Dalefield would encounter tracks of other humans, and by 4013, Dalefield had found Delroy's Landing and the main bulk of the Lilly's sister ships. By 4015 a dirt road had been crudely constructed to allow trade of small goods between Dalefield and the greater human colonies on Veluntia.
Fishing became the towns most prosperous form of trade by 4020, involving massive shipments of strange beads to Josephine. These beads were said to be bought or bartered from the indigenous lizard-like swamp folk of the Ba'arthr Swamps, who have supposedly come into contact with some of the more strange and recluse fishermen.
