Similar to the Drifeyan Sea Elves, Redwood elves are about in the midrange when it comes to height. They tend to be a bit shorter than Drifeya Sea Elves but they are on average taller than the Estirian Woodelves. Redwood Elves have hair in various shades of red and ginger and their skin has green undertones to it. They have pointy ears that are longer than those of the meadow or sea elves, but unlike those of their Estirian cousins, they're not bent.
The two most notable features of the Redwood Elves are their pointed teeth (an entire mouth full) and the dark brown, bent backwards horns on their heads. Each Redwood Elf has a pair of horns. They grow slowly and while the men shed their horns all seven years, the women don't, but their horns grow more slowly and are on average smaller.

Ecology and Habitats
The Redwood Elves, as the name suggests, live solely in the Redwoods. No one knows why they haven't spread any further, but apparently, the conditions of the Redwoods is ideal for them. Their appearence which often frightens those who don't know them, has given the REdwood Elves the stigma of being devils, which might also contribute to them mainly sticking to the Redwoods.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Redwood Elves are the only carnivorous elvish sub-species, with all others being omnivores. They mainly eat deer, birds, hares and smaller animals like mice, but they also feed on insects and hunt bigger animals like elks or bears. The stories about them eating humans are just that, stories.

Facial characteristics
Redwood Elves have the most angular and harsh faces of all elvish sub-species. They are all sharp angles and jutting bone structure, which gives them an intimidating, stern but nevertheless beautiful look.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
They live exclusively in the Redwoods, although there are stories of some Redwood Elves moving to Estira.
