Land of the Lost: Session 5 Report
General Summary
Having gained the support of the Sanctum, the party recovered from their wounds and prepared to head to the nearby fungal forest to recover special ingredients for healing potions and alchemical weapons. The party's combat prowess had given the Sanctum hope that they could overcome the dangers of the forest as well face the approaching hordes of Sect.
They set out on the 15th day of First Blaze, 255 TTE and, after a brief journey, reached an outpost just outside the fungal forest. Due to the recent seismic activity, a new river had formed and has cut right through the middle of the outpost. With no easy way to cross, the party ventured inside to see what has made its home in the structure. Inside, they foundd cocoons of a scorpion-like Sect species. These proved formidable foes once awoken, but the party was able to overcome them with only one casualty to the Sanctum warriors.
After reinforcements from Sanctum arrived to reinforce the outpost, the party took a few days to recover from the fight and then ventured into the fungal forest. There, they were easily able to acquire most of the ingredients they need. They found the final ingredients located on small islands surrounded by a thick turquois fog. It quickly became apparent that there were strange beings, seemingly fungal in nature, hiding in the fog. They seemed to be blind and only react to sound, so the party threw rocks to lure the beings away. However, they were eventually discovered and a swarm of them emerged from the fog, including a very large one.
The party fled and was able to make it back to the outpost, but not before losing two Sanctum warriors. Having accomplished their mission, they returned to the Sanctum to heal from their wounds and prepare for their next mission.
