Land of the Lost: Session 0 Report
General Summary
The party went over the expectations for the campaign, changes to the 3dX Ruleset, relevant information for the world, and created their new characters.
Jack is a Hare-kin adventurer from Ohedyn that has spent many years adventuring in the regions adjacent to the Trivium Sea. During a delve in the Sandsea of Duva, he found a decanter containing an entity claiming to be a long-lost god that wishes to reclaim prominence in the world. In exchange for feeding fresh souls to the entity and helping it search for a means to escape its prison, Jack is rewarded with magical abilities and guidance that aid him in his adventures.
Serqet is a Scorpion-kin born and raised in the Sandsea of Duva and was the guide that led Jack to the ruins where he found the decanter. Not entirely convinced that Jack is actually in possession of the remains of a lost deity, Serqet is skeptical but has always wished to find proof of powers and beings beyond the mundane, so she agreed to accompany Jack on his journey. Together, they traveled to Amyhra where they heard that a path into the Lost Mountains had been discovered. Believing that the secret to resurrecting a lost god may lie within the ruins of the Lost City of Pallium, they began their journey up the Shattered Sea as far as seafarers could safely take them and then continued their journey on foot.
Perry is a Platypus-kin that lived in a small village on the eastern coast of Sonata where the Shattered Sea becomes the Ruined Sea. Her community was dedicated to guarding the seasonal western land-bridge of the island know as the Gauntlet. For as long as the community has existed, horrific creatures called Gaunt that originate from the Gauntlet have attempted to cross over to the continents of Novad and Sonata and spread their sickness. Perry served as a combat engineer, maintaining the defense and repelling the Gaunt, until recently when a wave much larger than normal broke through their defenses and slaughtered everyone in its path. By some miracle, Perry was the only survivor. Weak and unsure of her future, she wandered away from the ruins of her home and ventured into the desert.
Before she made it far, she encountered a caravan and caught the attention of Jack and Serqet. They told her that they were on their way to find the Lost City of Pallium and uncover the secrets, which could include advanced technological weaponry; weapons that could be used to destroy the Gaunt that had taken from Perry everything but her life. The party of two was now three and they continued one their journey to the north, blissfully unaware of what they were getting themselves into.
