Ruined Sea

The northern end of the Shattered Sea, known as the Ruined Sea, differs from the rest of the treacherous channel between the continents of Novad and Sonata by the remains of countless cities that made up one of the most advanced civilizations of the past age. It is said that this civilization was the last to fall during the last Firefall and that its fall was by far the greatest, unleashing widespread destruction across the region. In addition to underwater rock formations, volcanic activity, and monstrous sea creatures encountered throughout the Shattered Sea, those that make it to the Ruined Sea must contend with the aftermath of this cataclysm, most often in the form of structures both on and beneath the sea that are said to migrate throughout the region, though many have claimed to have encountered remnants of their technology, inspiring many to brave the treacherous seas in pursuit of fame or riches.
