Shattered Sea Geographic Location in Aroka: Fallen World | World Anvil

Shattered Sea

The northernmost part of the Tryvyum Sea, where it begins its journey through passage between the continents of Novad and Sonata, is called the Shattered Sea for the jagged forest of underwater mountains that dominate the area. These underwater ranges form unpredictable current that make navigating through the few very narrow safe passages through the region incredibly difficult. Additionally, storms that pass over Cogys may be pressed up against the mountains on the eastern edge of Sonata, creating sporadic weather patterns and winds. On occasion, amphibious or aquatic species are hired to guide ships through this region, but this is a harsh environment for them as well, seemingly home to many dangerous sea creatures living amongst the jagged mountains below.    Of all the ways out of the Tryvyum Sea, this is by far the most used and the least likely to result in death. However, those that have made this journey speak of an even greater obstacle at the northern end of the Shattered Sea: a land glowing with foreign energies protected by otherworldly monsters. None have made it past this land, marking the unofficial northern limit of the known world.
