Land of the Lost: Session 1 Report

General Summary

The party arrived at Kendathyl Warf on the 96th day of First Spring, 255 TTE (Tryvyum Trade Era). This rather small port city was buzzing with adventurers, merchants, and representative on numerous factions as this had become the unofficial last stop before venturing into the Lost Mountains. Seeing just how marked up nearly all goods are, the party decided to do a couple odd jobs to acquire extra currency. Additionally, they ventured into the nearby forest to try and save money on lodging and food.

While in the forest, they encountered a family of Leapers and made quick work of them, discovering their burrow full of treasures and trinkets. They returned to the city and begin selling these items. While doing so, several of the upper class citizens began to recognize lost items among the trinkets. This raises the suspicion of the guards, who bring the party in for questioning. They managed to talk and bride their way out of being thrown in the jail and then set out to try and find the real thief.

The party sets up camp in the forest not too far from the Leaper burrow. During the night, they encountered a mysterious creature watching from the darkness. While not engaging with it, they decided to ask the locals about it the following day and come back to investigate.

The following morning, while the party was heading back into town, they encountered an Otter-Kin heading towards the burrow. After catching him, they found that he had more stolen goods in his bag. They turned him into the guards and got their names cleared.

The party spent the rest of the day asking about the creature they saw. The locals called it the Warden and it was believed to be an ancient being that protects the forest against those that seek to harm it.

While reseraching the Warden, Jack went to the main hall of the Warf where records on all the local happenings are stored. There, he met O'Ard, an Owl-Kin member of the Knights of the Scroll. He was very curious about Jack's decanter, but was not forceful with his questioning. He did convince Jack to share some information on how he encountered it in exchange for access to some of the more classified documents not usually available to the public. Jack took advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the Warden, but it seems even these documents do not have much information on it.

That night, the party returned to the forest and investigated the creature, seeing if they could uncover its mysteries. They left the following morning with more questions and a few injuries.

When determining whether to spend more time uncovering the mysteries of the Warf or departing for the Lost City of Pallium, they decided to make final preparation and begin their journey. The world is full of mysteries and the Warden isn't the one that has peaked their interests.
