West Orckid Empire
Calling themselves the guarantors of the Old Empire, West Orckid is seen by its neighbors as the doom of the ancient land of the Viisianars. After the Great Collapse, West Orckid was a highly isolationist and militarized nation for several centuries, but eventually began to open up as its coastlines played host to Viisi pilgrims and Pukavi mariners.
Today, the Empire is as commercially expansive as any other nation, engaging in trade and colonization with its island neighbors, and frequently at war with East Orckid Proper. The dynastic conflicts between West Orckid and what remains of the ancient Mornal Empire across the Bitter Sea, are said to be legendary in scope.
