Mornals

Wherever they spread (and they spread far), the Mornals are called the white barbarians. Ghast in feature, usually thick and muscular, all Mornal cultures seem to prize conquest and domination. Despite spreading almost from one end of the earth to the other, this value is retained in all their settlements, with only the occasional small village proving different. Their hair is almost exclusively black (until old age), with the rare brown head of hair considered a sign of weakness across all regions. Superior steel allowed the people of the Mornal Empire to cross the Bitter Sea and conquer the Old Orckid Empire, which was heavily divided by infighting at the time. Mornal steel has since been surpassed by that of Khabar, Suna, Laizhou, and arguably Zalja and Eysland, and since the Great Collapse and the Fall of the Mornal Empire, most consider the Mornals a fallen people. Technically, there are three major cadet peoples descended from the "true" Mornal folk: the Morai, the Orrick, and the Ostral. Though these terms are sometimes used to differentiate the three groups, by and large they are still referred to as Mornals, by themselves and by their foes.
