There are several tellings romanticizing the marriage between Kirin and Maitiu, chief among them tell of Kirin leading Clan Rutach in a revolt regarding commissioning of soldiers for the Gorsmarch, with popular variations suggesting Maitiu rescued Kirin (or her father Caelach) whilst repelling an attack from Kelisfield.
