Wizards: Ermengarda of Felissar, Surshem the Serpent Dorren inherited the crown before his fourth birthday, when his father Ruark Redeye abdicated the throne and was put into exile. For most of Dorren's life, the realm was ruled by his uncle and High Magus, Bethraal the Beloved. Dorren was a bold and courageous child, oft eluding his minders to explore the city or find trouble within the castle itself. He was considered skilled though unexceptional with sword and lance, though he won two hollymocks before manhood, both fought with grown men over the matter of his mother's honor. He was said to have fallen off his horse more times than a dozen squires combined, but he never failed to return to his saddle and ride forth again. Perhaps the most significant event of Dorren's brief reign was the death of the Wizard Ermengarda of Felissar, and the summons and entitlement of Surshem Hayn, called Surshem the Serpent. This would reestablish royal wizards for the first time in Revellia since Gwynt the Ghastly purged them from the land over a century ago. Two years into his reign, King Dorren was wed to Lady Mazar Satten, daughter to the Governor of Urudun. They were a loved and loving couple, but no children came in the three years of their union. Dorren was a close friend of his cousin Dorrenog, called Dorrenog the Daring, and the two had oft led hunting trips into the eastern Fiirwood, in search of werewolf pelts. On one such trip, taken as Dorrenog's wife Lady Gwynivyr Glast was in labor with their second child, would lead to a skirmish with woodland brigands. Dorrenog was found slain, and the bandits hanged to a man. King Dorren was never seen again.
