Dhahabi Tawul Spell in Arda Almayed | World Anvil

Dhahabi Tawul

Talsiman of Protection

The Sabeyun twisted her hair into a bun, and adjusted a scarf around her head. The blinds had been shut close, and a few cracks of the fading light of dusk struggled into the dark room. She moved to her shelf, fingers dancing bewteen the jars and many trinkets until she reached for the long bit of fabric she was looking for. She sat down on her carpet, face glowing next to the candlelights. She pulled a thread of gold, the soft hum of a prayer song rising from her lips. She will be sowing until dawn.
Dhahabi Tawul are talismans made of fabric, often used as belts or scarves. They are meant to protect the wearers of sickness, and make them stronger and more vigorous. Dhahabi Tawul are typically crafted by Sabeyuns, and are part of a series of popular Danatelian traditions.

Casting the Spell

The creation of a Dhahabi Tawul is a process which asks for patience and focus. The Sabeyun (or more rarely a priest) must first select the fabric which will serve as a vessel. A prayer to various gods must be said before the real work begins. Prayers and invocations are sown into the fabric, asking various gods for their favour and blessings. Argus the Protector is often called upon to grant the wearer strength, whilst one may ask wisdom and foresight of Samara the Enchantress. The embroidering of the prayers takes up most of the night, and the caster must recite them without interruption during the entire process.

Once the embroidering is completed, the fabric is then washed in ointments and blessed once more. It is then fashionned into a long, thin roll, in which small items may be placed. These are often chosen by whoever comissioned the talismant, and tend to be lucky charms and the like. The fabric is then sown together until it ressembles a thick belt. At dawn, it must be brought out and presented to Deïmon the Bright, patron of craftsmen.

Effects

Once worn, the Dhahabi Tawul is considered to give strength and agility to its wearer. It is often carried by soldiers and mercenary, as it is said to increase stamina, but it is possible in some places to spot working class citizens with such talismants. Dhahabi Tawul are especially popular amongst smiths and construction workers.

Simple and effective! Yet another good article from you! I will report two typos I have spotted: 1) in the subtitle Talsiman and 2)in (what I see as) 2nd last line of the paragraph Effects there's a talismants.
