Saphiren

The capital of Yraldrig. The basis of it was built by the high elves when they settled in Yraldrig, at the time named Nyhem, at the start of the Age of Parting.
After humans took over the country by force, they decided to build around Saphiren and made it the capital. Some buildings outside of the city walls by the harbour still retain the characteristic high elf architecture but most have been remodelled or were completely torn down. Now it's a drab city with several layers of defensive walls and a large fortress in the middle.
