My favourite, though there are several candidates, i think is the very first one i wrote, about world crafting. I'm also quite fond of my tossabeak, stormerki international, and my mmo themed articles though. The easiest was to me was the first 10k. I was doing a project to do one of every template and in the beginning, i hadn't done the easiest ones yet (species). The most difficult were article types such as language, plot and military conflict. Another challenge was getting things read. I learned a lot though about sharing with the community (which was a big personal challenge for me because i get performance anxiety), and i learned about writing many different things. Next year, i'd like to have more art and such prepared beforehand, so that i don't need as many placeholders.

My favorite article is probably the one I worked hardest on, The Battle of the Alse. It received the most likes I've ever gotten on an article and all the feedback helped me improve it even more. Writing about countries and characters was easy for me and whenever I felt the need to get a bunch of words written, I would start working on those things. The hardest part was realizing my own limits and that 5k every day was a bit too much, especially since I was still tired from the 60k that I wrote during NaNoWriMo. I learned a lot about formatting and all that good stuff. Next year I will try to plan ahead and take things slower in hopes that I won't burn out again.

My favorite article would be the one talking about the Creation Project, an organization that I wanted to write about since I was in high school.   For me, the easiest part was coming up with the ideas for the articles, since many of them were the ones I had since I was a little kid (I just had to change them a little). The hardest were the first 10 days before I joined the Discord. Every day I wanted to just give up. But joining the Discord and talking with other authors helped me a lot.   I learned that I need to set myself small, everyday goals to motivate myself to work. And how to use BBCode (thanks everyone ;P). For next year I'll prepare some art and will try to advertise my articles more.

1. This was really hard to decide. I like my head-sculptor article but I think that I will go with this one. It was the first article I wrote for my newest world which I came up with during this event :3

2. Huuuuuuum. Deciding what articles to write. 3. Deciding what to write in the articles that I wanted to write about. 4. I need to plan a lot more ahead before the next WE...and that if I can't come up with what to write just write on another article. 5.Do more research before WE starts and plan for what to do if I become sick or something happens. Ponder schedule better and maybe take out vacation at the end of the month too.

Which Of The Articles You've Written For WorldEmber Is Your Favorite?

I like most of my articles, but I suppose Kannak would have to be my favorite. The writing of the city really changed how I approach my world and has directly influenced how I’ll be writing articles in the future.
Kannak

City of Goblins, Bulettes and Bulette Powder.

What About WorldEmber Was Easiest?

The first 10k was easy, and so was the second. I think that if I hadn’t hit some serious technical issues I’d have cleared more words than I did.

What Was Hardest?

Technical issues plagued the majority of WorldEmber for me, lots of trips to the library to write and pound out ideas. But that’s not really a WorldEmber specific thing…   I suppose persevering through till the end of the month, the community was great to talk to and converse with on any and all topics. :D

What Did You Learn?

I learned that if I have lore, people will look at it. And that I really need pictures for my world…   And following that bead of inspiration that seems entirely unrelated can really get you so much more an understanding of your world.   Not huge or life-changing, but definitely things I learned.

What Will You Do Differently For Next Year? :D

I started the month off with my article on Draconic Councils, figuring I’d work on power structures all month… Then came the Bulettes, and the information from how they are used to fuel my trains and airships, then the fact that the trains stopped working and how the entire world was affected by this.   I think I will do more prep next year, I’ll have a much bigger world to work on and more information to base things off of. But letting those beads of “Ooh, that’s interesting” take you away, is also important. :D

Which Of The Articles You've Written For WorldEmber Is Your Favorite?
My personal favorite article is probably the one about Zhar'Dark, an extremely important character of Stellaria Aeterna, but it's mainly because it's with THIS article that we overwhelmed our word record in one article :p

What About WorldEmber Was Easiest?
I honestly thought that World Ember needing on 10k words wasn't extremely hard to complete, or even easy.

What Was Hardest?
On another hand, worldbuild to reach the highest scores, from 100 to 200 thousand words, was extremely hard, as we evolve with very clean ideas, then we write more deeper aspects.

What Did You Learn?
One thing. Anchors. I experimented a lot on them, and damn, this is so nice for long articles! (But I have forgotten to add that on Zhar, longest article xD)

What Will You Do Differently For Next Year?
Next year, first, I will prepare more deeply my placeholders and artworks to lose A LOT less time to write. Also, I will try to have more time; I am investing so much of it into my studies :/

1) - cute for the win! 2) After all the preparation hype, the first 10k went by quickly, and it was an amazing feeling of accomplishment. 3) The hardest was the push to 50k - I had seen how much I can write in a short time, and I felt like with that speed I had to push to 50k and it would be inacceptable to give in. The pressure completely blocked my writing. I actually had to allow myself to give in and remind myself of what I had achieved and what I had wanted to do with World Ember, only then all of a sudden writing came back and I still managed to reach the 50k. 4) A lot of things: Managing my expectations, realizing how I write and what works best for me when I worldbuild. And of course, how much the community can carry you through hard times. I think the last part is my favorite about it! 5) Prepare differently - I realized how integral characters are for my worldbuilding, and how much they reveal about the world when I plan them. I will definitely use the character creation template I made for myself during Wolrd Ember and prepare a lot more characters. Most places I had in my mind ended up dry and boring when I wrote them, but as soon as a character had a connection to a place, it came alive together with the character. A lot of people told me to do characters beforehand, and I felt I just worked differently, until I finally started working on characters.

My favourite:

The Siege of Arkran
Military Conflict | Dec 28, 2018
The easiest part was tying everything together. There was a lot of gaps from the summer challenge and people I hadn't gotten around to writing for (still have two of The Nine to write about!)   Hardest thing was simply finding time, LIFE!   I think I need a little bit more of time gap to reflect on what I learned.   Next year, I'll just book December off so I have time ;)

As for my favorite article, it would probably be the kava plant, which is really one of my more inspired articles (even though I think it dropped from the species shortlist). The easiest about WorldEmber was writing, the hardest probably waiting for it to start lol. What will I do differently? I'll write more I guess, I missed my 50k target due to unforseen circumstances.

Which Of The Articles You've Written For WorldEmber Is Your Favorite?

Aw man, choosing one is hard. But I think I'll go for the article about the pool of magic inside every living creature - the Kor-Ithar. It's a concept I've brewed on for quite some time now, and it feels good to get it down in written form and not just a random idea floating in the back of my mind.

What About WorldEmber Was Easiest?

Having stuff to write about. I had about 100 things on my TODO list, and due to new concepts being developed through the month as I wrote I doubt the list is any shorter at the end of the month.

What Was Hardest?

I wrote 100k words during November for NaNoWriMo this year, so one of the hardest things was definitely to make myself keep writing in December. Another hard thing was to keep the flow going without getting stuck on small details or stop to find that perfect header image.

What Did You Learn?

I learned a lot about inkmaking in the medieval times (as well as papermaking, though I never actually wrote that article during WA), which wasn't exactly a topic I'd expected to research. I also (re)learned just how awesome this community is, and how fun it is to be a part of it.

What Will You Do Differently For Next Year?

That's extremely hard to say. Maybe be even more active in the community part of WE. I'd love to say to take some vacation time during December, but as I don't know my job situation after mid-January it's impossible to know if I'll be able to. I could plan a bit more beforehand, but then I'd have to plan in October. I guess I'll do what I do best - just roll with it. :3

This was a tough time to decide. My favourite article for worldember would be the article I wrote for Aiden Tallorann, one of the protagonists of my story and probably the greatest and most detailed character I have ever made. It was also my most liked article on world anvil so far, garnering 10 likes from people who saw the amount of effort I put into him. Here’s the link https://www.worldanvil.com/w/cadmeia-redclaw123/a/aiden-tallorann-article-1. Worldember was easy on all aspects except for the final parts where burnout was a big issue. Overall I don’t know what I will do differently next year but I will set a goal for myself to advance the story and hopefully move on to the other worlds of my storyline and build them as they will be even more important than the world of Cadmeia.

I'd say my favorite article was the one I made for my world's goddess of creation, Nhaderys. It's not very lengthy, and does not include any history (yet) but it really got my brain going on how the other gods and planes of my world were created over time. Those are all articles for other days!     The easiest part of WorldEmber for me was typing my articles and getting my information published. The hard part was convincing myself to sit down and do it!   I learned that I need to focus on organizing my thoughts, perhaps take some notes, and understand what articles I need to make to link everything together. At the same time, I found that hard to do when building from scratch, because I would make up new places, cities, lore figures, and more with each individual article I wrote.   What am I doing differently next year? Not waiting for the last few days to get most of my writing done! That's the big one! I could have easily broken 50k if I gave myself time. And I suppose next year I'll actually post my articles for people to read and like. I didn't do it at all.

Which of the articles you've written for WorldEmber is your favorite?

I never thought I would write a Language Article for my world, let alone writing one which has been shortlisted AND it inspired someone to write their own, which the later blows my mind. Winning prize in WorldEmber wasn't and isn't my goal. My aim was to get the 10k and have fun. To have inspired someone was the best feeling I'd had ever felt and has encouraged me to do that more. What about WorldEmber was easiest? Getting the 10k was easier than I thought.   What was hardest? Staying off Discord. The folks there are too nice! The love, the support and the hype were amazing. <3   What did you learn? "If you set your mind to it, you can accomplish anything." WorldEmber was more of a personal challenge than just something to do on a whim. I wanted to push myself and challenge myself; to prove to myself, If I will myself then I will do it!   What will you do differently for next year? :D Target as many of the categories as I can, whilst also aiming for the 10k or whatever target will be set next time. To aim high and do not stop. I also want to inspire more people and to support as much as I can. Basically, I want to do all of the things. Either that or I'll attempt my own Marathon stream.
