Genius-Touched

Genius-Touched are a subcategorization of Far-Touched. To the layman, it may seem like the Genius-Touched got off lucky in terms of Far Realm mutations. They lack the terrifying visage of the Deep-Touched, or the psychic intruder of the Mind-Touched, or the common hatred against the Flesh-Touched, instead looking and seeming almost exactly like particularly High Elves, adept in the creation of art and music, despite their Human origin. However, a scratch below the surface of these creative geniuses, and you can see the madness that bubbles within. These Far-Touched are characterised by an unnatural talent in an art form, one that often controls their every waking thought. These artworks are seen as provocative, and can be off putting to some, as these are prose describing the horrors of The Far Realm, discordant tones from beyond the veil or images of the viewer’s own death. These maddening images, forced into the victim’s mind through the Far Realm Incursions, leave these Far-Touched vulnerable to mental illness, variable moods, obsessive behaviours and, in rare cases, self-aggrandisements bordering on narcissism. This quirks, in combination with the dark nature of their masterpieces can also invoke ire from others, and often leads them to lives of intense loneliness, with nothing but dreams of their own deaths for company.
