2020-12-17 | Session | DoD || XV | Traveling Hungover
General Summary
The session opened with an introduction to Floki a halfling bard who was on a mission, looking for a man named Cramus Wrenth. He was told to recruit the most recent killers of dragons and searched for them in Moongarten. He picked up his search in Dink's Airship & Cantina and after a brief conversation with Malika Skyborn he was able to find Grimogall Varangr and Belus. The two were antsy to get out of Moongarten and jumped at the opportunity to head out on an adventure with their new contact. Especially because Malika beat Belus at chess, again.
They talked with Leforo Staria who had already been tipped off by Time Sworn Sentinels that someone would come looking for the teleportation artifact. He warned them to be careful but told them he would comply.
The party went back to Dinks for one more night and "burned down" the place. Floki got incredibly drunk but at the end of the night, when he was fully pissed the other two convinced him to perform and he pulled off a near-flawless performance, even inebriated. The night was one for the books.
The next morning, with Floki a little banged up, they returned to Leforo and used the device to teleport which took them to the city of Bralizzar. There they found a city overflowing with refugees of a war. Kalitharius had begun his attacks and was spreading his influence. The peoples were fleeing the desert and the violence went they could.
Floki found a halfling and convinced him to tell them where the House of Mirth and Quin Marquee could be found. When the arrived at the House of Mirth a Broken Telson bouncer tried to shake them down for gold, but they were able to convince him that they'd already paid.
Inside the Inn, they found Quin and the guide she hired Hathak, a kobold. They organized quickly and headed out towards the Oasis of the White Palm.
They travelled through the Knife Pass and beyond the Gates of Sule.
As they crossed the desert they found the beginning of a river and followed it up to the Tomb of Amun-Re where they learned about the curse being broken and water returning.
Before they reached the Oasis they stumbled across a woman, several jacklewares, and a peryton. A failed sneak attempt alerted the brood to the party, but they were able to quickly dispatch of the creatures, Floki falling asleep momentarily. The woman, dimension doored away from the fight when all her creatures were killed. Investigating the area provided the party with a Bead of Force.
The rest of their weeks-long travel took them to the Oasis of the White Palm. They spied a floating boat and were able to convince the sole occupant to dropdown. He offered to show them tricks and talked a little about the crew he travelled with before revealing his name was Jamis Frostshadow.
