The only purely nocturnal griffin, the lesser spotted uses the cover of night and the trees of its home to slink through its territory unseen. When it finds prey, it waits until the opportune moment before striking and disappearing, all in the blink of an eye.

Entirely solitary, however, territorial overlap is extremely common, especially amongst siblings and parents.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Found in the coastal regions of the Dragon Bridge, but have a more established population in the Underfoot Jungle and Impossible Mountains.

Conservation Status

Rarely seen or heard, it's difficult to keep an accurate census on the lesser spotteds. Generally, years pass without sightings, only for the next focused expedition to uncover evidence of a thriving population. Generally, the species is considered not threatened as the difficulties in tracking the species' population also applies to hunting. Conservationists are keeping a close eye, just in case.
